Trav’s Basketball Bio

Glastonbury’s newest resident, Travis Warech (33 years old) brings a wealth of experience from his 11-year professional basketball career overseas in Germany and Israel. He has captained teams at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, showcasing his leadership and expertise.

Travis's impressive 15-year playing career includes becoming only the 12th Junior at Saint Michael’s College to reach the 1,000-point milestone in 2012. He concluded his collegiate journey by leading Ithaca College to an NCAA Sweet 16, averaging 21.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game during the playoff run.

Travis spent the first four years of his professional career in the German Bundesliga, helping three different teams reach the playoffs and establishing himself as a 3-and-D specialist. He played a key role in Rasta Vechta’s promotion in 2015, achieving a remarkable team record of 33-4 while shooting 42% from three-point range.

For the past seven years, Travis has excelled in the Israeli Winner League, known as one of the league's best three-point shooters and defenders. He holds the record for total points scored in Hapoel Beer Sheva’s club history and finished the 2019 season with the league's second-best 43% from beyond the arc. Additionally, Travis has served as an NCAA DII Assistant Coach and has extensive experience training players of all ages & skill levels, from 4th graders to overseas professionals. He is eager to leverage his global basketball experiences to teach, shape, and mold the next generation of Connecticut hoopers.
